  I was quoted $205 to install a mid turn signal bracket and light on a trailer--a price that was a little high, but they were the only game in town, so I gave the go ahead. Waited two hours in the lot for them to get around to it and finally ran out of time--another driver needed to pick up the trailer. I told them I needed to leave and the guy said "No, no, no, we're pulling it in right now" I relented, figuring it was only a 15 minute job.
  
  Two hours later, I absolutely couldn't wait anymore and went to ask the mechanic what the deal was? He said, "We've just been waiting to get paid." I asked why he hadn't come out to my truck to get payment then?
  
  So... I go to the office to pay and lo' and behold, the bill is $326.35--that's $270 labor and $35 in parts plus tax--for a 15 minute job, tops. Of course, the guy who gave me the quote was out to lunch. I had no choice to pay the extortion to get my trailer back.
  
  I guess I should have went with my first instinct and walked out when I saw the receptionist was behind a bullet-proof glass window. Usually when people feel the need to hide behind glass, it's because they are crooks.
